Students who earned an award were able to pursue an otherwise unpaid internship without sacrificing their own financial security. It is imperative that more lawyers enter the public interest field, and PILP works to keep those doors open to those who may otherwise be financially unable. This year, PILP was able to provide awards to 13 students working at a variety of organizations including:

  • St. Andrew Legal Clinic Skylar Losik, 2L

  • Clackamas Indigent Defense Corporation Colin Bradshaw, 2L

  • Klamath Siskiyou Wildlands Center Jacqueline O'Keefe, 2L

  • Metropolitan Public Defender Alison Kavanagh, 3L; Taylor Rose, 2L; Todd Smith, 2L

  • Wildlands Network James Garlant, 2L
  • Oregon Law Center Amber Cognata, 2L

  • Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services Patricia Estrella, 2L

  • Disability Rights Oregon Emily Fox, 2L

  • Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance Jessica Hetzel, 2L
